Your e-mail address is based on your username (eg: if your username is giorgos,
your e-mail address will be giorgos@OTENET.gr ) 

Which are the names of incoming and outgoing mail server?
The incoming mail server's name is : mail.OTENET.gr.
The outgoing mail server's name is : mailgate.OTENET.gr.

Are there any limits (in MB) for sending and receiving mails ?
The size limitation for sending mail is 10MB per message. There is no limits for receiving e-mails.
The larger the message is, the more time you need to retrieve your e-mail.

To how many recipients can I send the same message ?
You can send the same message to 30 recipients at once. (to avoid Spamming)

How can I send a very large message?
If the message includes one or more attached files, you can compress them (click here for this reason) in order to decrease its size. Otherwise, you can break it down to smaller messages.

Is there any case that an e-mail will not reach its destination ?
An e-mail will not reach its destination for the following reasons:
1) It has not been accepted for delivery.  In this case, you will receive an e-mail explaining the exact reasons. 
2) You typed the recipient's email address incorrectly. In this case, the message may be retrieved by another user.

Shall I leave a copy of my messages on the mail server of OTENET ?
If the option "Leave a copy of messages on server" is selected, you can retrieve mail whenever is desired.
Extensive use of the above option may gradually lead to an overflow of your mailbox causing serious problems
in sending and receiving messages.

How can I receive my e-mails from abroad ?
Set up your mail program as follows:
POP Account: your username to OTENET
Incoming mail server(POP3): mail.OTENET.gr

How can I forward my e-mails from one e-mail address to another ?
Send a message to and inform us about your username and password, the first and the second e-mail address, your surname, a telephone and  the time period desired for this forwarding.

Can I send an e-mail to OTENET using greek fonts or do I have to write in Greeklish ?
You can send an e-mail using greek fonts if you use the Standard 928 (ISO-8859-7).

If you have Windows 95/98 go to: Start-Programs-MS-DOS Prompt, type: ping mailgate.OTENET.gr and press Enter.
If you have Windows 2000/XP go to: Start-Programs-Accessories-Command Prompt, type: ping mailgate.OTENET.gr and press Enter.
If you see a different message from the one below: "Reply from ..."
